   PianoCheater is a midi sequencer built for a piano PLAYER practicing SONGS.
                                      NOT for a mixer tweakin' copy/pastin' DJ.
   It will help you with your daily piano practice.  (and elec drum practice)
    - in a "Piano Hero"-ish way:
      The music notation is just ACTUAL moving piano keys
      instead of dots and sharps on ledger lines and spaces
                                 on paper you need to flip and store.
    - what you play is shown against a reference score
                                 so your messups are easier to notice.
    - or scanned sheet music can be automatically flipped at the right bar.

   For cryin' out loud, it's FREE !!    (for now)

Oh, ya don't know what a "midi sequencer" is?

   it's a program that will...
   - load midi song files and -sequence- their notes with
     the live playing you do on a midi keyboard
   - record notes and controls (knobs&sliders) from the keyboard
   - play the whole mess out to a set of midi synthesizers
   - show the whole mess in a cool note/drum/control display on screen
   - save to a midi song file for later

There are lots of MIDI sequencers out there.
   But I don't like em.  So I'm building my own.  Yeah, I'm crazy...

   Why PianoCheater??
   You must have heard of Guitar Hero.
      You know, that game that DOESN'T teach you to play guitar?
   Right idea.  Wrong skill.  (And wrong instrument:)

   When I =finally= got a piano teacher, I showed her my app so far.
   Her first comment was "that's pretty cool, but THAT'S CHEATING"...
   Cheating ??     (She's since changed her mind:)
   Well, if you ask me, all's fair in love and war and PIANO TOO.

   In the end, I just thought it would be a cool name.  So you're stuck with it.

Requirements/Updating/Uninstall

Requirements:
   - regular windows PC.  You'ld only need horsepower for a software synth.
                                          (which is seperate from PianoCheater).
   - digital piano, synthesizer or electronic drumset.
     My recommendations

Updating:
   - PianoCheater automatically checks this site for updates
     ONLY once every 2 weeks ONLY when it first runs.
                     (There are NO dumb constantly running background programs.)
   - If a new version is out, it'll ask you if you want to install it.
     If you don't, it won't bug you again until the NEXT version is out.

UnInstalling:
   - Windows' Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, pick PianoCheater, pick Remove
