When you're done with your piano practice and
have recorded that killer song note perfect,
you'll want to send it to your buddy, I'll bet.
(Send it to me!)

That's why we have midi files.
You've seen em.  Extensions of .MID or .KAR or .RMI
   Usually, it's .mid
   .KAR for "karaoke" files - just a midi file with lyric events a CERTAIN way.
   .RMI Leave it to microsoft to make files with extra extensions...

Midi files simply store midi events with an exact time.
Also with things like time and key signatures, tempo, lyrics, "marker" text,
   etc, etc, etc.

They're just a file that some hardware midi devices and load and save.
SOME.  It's kind of rare.
Usually midi sequencers on your PC are what save and load these files.
